Advocate and connect

We help children and families connect with appropriate formal, informal, community and mainstream supports. We recognise that positive outcomes for children are supported by strong relationships and connected communities, not only by professional intervention. Where appropriate, we advocate for inclusive opportunities and work with other services to reduce barriers to participation.

Collaborate

We work in partnership with children, families and relevant providers to create a coordinated team around the child. With appropriate consent, we share relevant information, knowledge and skills to support consistent and coordinated care.

Where a family wishes to use a key worker, we work collaboratively with the family and relevant providers to identify the most suitable arrangement.

Promote inclusion and participation

Every child has the right to be safe, respected and included. We support children to participate meaningfully in family life, education, community activities and everyday experiences alongside others. We focus on reducing barriers and strengthening opportunities for participation, belonging and connection.

Build strengths and capability

We recognise and build on the existing strengths, abilities, knowledge and capacity of children, families and the people who support them. Through coaching, collaboration and capacity building, we support families and other important people in the child's life to develop the confidence, knowledge and skills to support the child's learning, development and participation in everyday life.
